A Community Based Art Performance bringing together people of all backgrounds.
Creative expression, ritual movements, performance and art installations
offer a way to connect and celebrate our humanity
Four artists bring their vision energy and talents together for this project, Chisao Hata, performer, choreographer and dance educator and Ping Khaw, visual artist, arts educator, and web designer, Kestrel Gates and LÃm Quảng who own and operate the HiiH Gallery in the Alberta Arts district that produces handmade light sculptures and performance art. Their collective vision is to share a creative process and performance with diverse groups in public venues.
“We feel it is our responsibility as artists to offer ways for people to express their creativity and humanity amidst a world of global wars, community divisions and rising human fear. Creative expression, invention and action are the cornerstones for a world of interconnectedness, global well-being, and personal fulfillment.”
Our vision for HARMOS the Human Flag Project is to infuse creative energy into the world. Through creative energy, ideas and artful action we can minimize the degree of destruction that is taking place on this planet. It is through hope and human will that we will create the world we want to live in, individually and collectively. It is more than a philosophy, it must become a way of life.
As artists we feel that human ecology is our greatest asset. Inspiration, diversity, dynamic expression and creativity are necessary to build human capacity. Humans are losing their connection to the natural world and our sense of identity and purpose.
