Harmos Brunch Meetings
Our brunch meetings give us a chance to eat delicious food, drink Lâm's chai, and discuss the project and plan out next steps.Present: Ping, Chisao, Lâm + Kestrel
March 11th - This was our first meeting as a group. The performance elements, timing, and locations of the final event were discussed. A preliminary list of potential partners was generated. And Chisao cooked us a delicious brunch of potatoes, eggs, and lots of grapefruit.April 8th - At our second brunch meeting, more in depth technical aspects of the performance were discussed. An extensive list of potential partners was generated and an over view of progress connecting with various partners was given. Volunteer roles were discussed and a rough out line of a volunteer flyer was created. The website in progress was coming along. And we were lucky to eat a delicious brunch prepared by Ping's mother: rice porridge with pickled and fried eggs, and Lâm enjoyed a pork bun. April 29th - The curriculum for the first workshop at Buckman School was discussed. Various promotional materials were discussed, including a bookmark and a packet to give to partners. More ideas for the uses and roles of flags during the performance were brainstormed. The last tidbits of text for the website were assigned. More ways of involving individuals and groups were explored. Lâm made frittata and potato pancakes, and of course his fresh chai.
May 12th - The Peace Station concept was further explored and plans for the training workshops were set in place. The roles and process of making the the Peace Flags and the City Flags were defined. The importance of the visual arts component of the project was explored. Partnering organizations, fundraising, and upcoming schedule were discussed. We enjoyed a delicious crepe brunch at the Tour De Crepes on Alberta (next to HiiH). May 28th - Past to-do lists were revisited and revised. The Peace Stations and the training workshops were further developed. The aspects of the performance were discussed including different strategies for the petals, the ropes, and the use of the flags. Chisao made scrumptious chilesquiles with generous amounts of sour cream followed by strawberries and whipped cream and of course Lâm's chai. The process begins ...
